From Beijing to Tokyo with PBS

Voyage Spotlight: Dynasties and Dragons on February 21, 2015

Next month, guests aboard Seven Seas Voyager® will not only sail to 10 beautiful ports across Southeast Asia in complete comfort, but will also do so in the company of beloved PBS personalities. Emmy Award-winning Rory Kennedy and Emmy Award-nominated screenwriter Mark Bailey are joined by noted author Steven Johnson and series manager of the acclaimed American Experience Lauren Prestileo, on the 18-night Dynasties and Dragons itinerary.

Guests will be treated to an exclusive preview of the documentary, Last Days in Vietnam, which chronicles the chaotic final days of the Vietnam War as the North Vietnamese Army closed in on Saigon and the South Vietnamese resistance crumbled. The film focuses on a number of heroic Americans that took matters into their own hands, as they engaged in unsanctioned and often makeshift operations in a desperate effort to save as many South Vietnamese lives as possible. The film will be followed by a question and answer session with director/producer Rory Kennedy and husband, screenwriter Mark Bailey.

In addition, as the ship sails from the mystical city of Beijing to incredible ports in China, South Korea, Taiwan and Japan, guests will have the opportunity to join panel discussions and special presentations on regional topics in the ship’s signature showplace, the Constellation Theater. Private dinners and cocktail receptions will take place during the voyage allowing guests to enjoy one-on-one conversations and personal interactions with the guest presenters. And as part of Regent Seven Seas Cruises’ all-inclusive promise, these special activities are available at no additional cost.
